Absorbed by Sappho’s poetry, Greek-Swedish composer Athanasia Kotronia presents a concert that evokes an ancient, distant reality. Text, once sung to the lyre, are set for soprano and ensemble, translated by Lene Carlskov, Signe Andersen, and Mille Søndergaard.

The program flows between the contrasts Sappho knew well - Apollo and Dionysus, order and ecstasy, light and transformation – with her best-known fragment “I am of two minds” shaping the interpretation.

Performed at Glyptoteket, home to Denmark’s richest collection of ancient Greek art.

Koncerten er arrangeret i samarbejde med Det Kongelige Danske Musikkonservatorium Glyptoteket og Klang Festivalen.
