The installation has unfortunately been canceled due to technical problems.

The young composer Oliver Tordendahl has created the mechanical string quartet, SOLO-quartet, which during this year's festival can be experienced in Musikhuset's Kongesal on the 7th and 8th of June.

The mechanical arms that control the bows can, in principle, play indefinitely without ever being able to change pitch, and Tordendahl has therefore been obliged to make a series of resolute, radical, and exciting choices regarding the tuning of the strings. What notes, what timbre, would you choose if you had to listen to it forever?

At the same time, the installation puts the viewer at the center by virtue of its staticity: Everyone who encounters the work has the opportunity to listen and observe it from every conceivable angle and in this way, on a mental level, create variations that are not really there. In this way, the SOLO-quartet makes listening itself
