After Talk at 3 pm in the library
When children and young people learn to play an instrument, it is a gift to discover new sounds and musical worlds. The music publisher Edition·S has created new possibilities for this with the music series Educate·S, which consists of new pieces written by contemporary composers for music school students. Composer and teacher Østen Mikal Ore, who is the initiator of the series, has, in collaboration with KLANG, developed a long running series of workshop, where children and young people work with the new pieces, play for each other, talk about the music, and meet some of the composers behind the pieces – all based on the new music in the Educate·S series.
The series is aimed at students who play the accordion, violin, piano, guitar, cello, recorder, viola or percussion at the country's music schools and at MGK, and it is thus a wide and varied instrumental palette that the audience will get to experience, when the young musicians perform the new sounds at this year's KLANG in KU.BE.
The concert is followed by an artists' talk in the KU:BE Lab, where you can learn more about both the work with the sheet music series, the workshop process, and the joy of discovering new, exciting pieces of music.
