It is only three years ago that the Korean-born composer Unsuk Chin last visited Copenhagen. At the time, it was as a guest composer at the annual Pulsar Festival at the Royal Danish Academy of Music, while the occasion this year is the reception of the Léonie Sonning Music Prize 2021.

Unsuk Chin's week-long visit begins with a workshop where two of the conservatory's solo students - violinist Djumash Poulsen and pianist Ramez Mhaanna - perform an open sample of two works from tomorrow's chamber concert in the Conservatory's Concert Hall.

Based on the music, associate professor and music historian Søren Schauser subsequently talks to the composer. Both about the many details in Chin's scores, about the inclusion of electronics and about the inspiration from the Danish poet Inger Christensen ..
