Last year the Icelandic composer Bára Gísladóttir released the solo album HĪBER on Dacapo Records to high acclaim. Now, for the first time, she is performing the music live. An intense and intimate experience is planned for LiteraturHaus.

Gísladóttir has previously stated that the climate crisis will inevitably lead to the end of humanity. That there is no hope for us. But also that "really interesting things can happen in this kind of situation, because it can create an extreme empathy and compassion, especially in the artistic environments".

HĪBER is precisely a journey into the textures of darkness, a sonic portrait of "a winter that lasts longer than a single season", as Gísladóttir herself puts it. The work falls into eight parts, each revolving around the individual's conditions in a world full of tremors, about dissolution, about sleep as a defense mechanism, about the body's reactions to stress, but also about a new calm and fearlessness.
