What does it mean to be a composer in the nordic countries? What restraints do they work under and how can the conditions for the music be improved?
These are some of the issues discussed when composers from the Nordic countries visit the KLANG festival.
Nordlyd is a three-year Nordic co-operation project on the creation of a new Nordic concert repertoire, network and exploration of the Nordic identity (s). Nordlyd started in 2016 and ends in 2018. By the end of the project, you will be strong Nordic composers from five Nordic countries, contributing to new musical works. Throughout a series of workshops, residences and concerts, all works have been collaborated with professional Northern Europe ensembles: Uusinta Ensemble (FI) (2016), Ensemble Adapter (D) (2017) and Norrbotten NEO (SE) (2018). During the first two years of the project, Nordlyd has resulted in a series of concerts, new musical works, articles, etc. and involved professional artists and various institutions from all over the Nordic countries.
The panel debate is supported by the Nordic Culture Fund and the Ingwersenske Fund and is part of KLANG's Nordic project Nordlyd.
The panel debate has been created in collaboration with the Nordic Component Council
