FILM: AGNETE AND THE SEPARATE
Agnete and the Merman is a film adaptation of a sonic theater production created by composer Cristian Vogel. The story Agnete and the Merman originates from a Scandinavian folklore about Agnete, who falls in love with a merman whom she has children with and lives on the seabed. In the end Agnete leaves her merman and will never see the children anymore.
The film, which coincided with the theater version, represents an experiment in performative documentation. The music of the film is an adaptation of Cristian Vogel's original wavefelt synthesis score, but has been completely transformed into Higher Order Ambisonics at Notam Studio Sirius in Oslo.
