KLANG-Festival 2019 reveals festival dates and the festival's anniversary celebration
KLANG - Copenhagen Avantgarde Music Festival is Denmark's largest, international festival for contemporary music. Since 2009, KLANG has been a permanent bastion in Danish cultural life. In 2019, KLANG celebrates its 10th anniversary with more than 40 concerts and events for adults and children in the capital. KLANG 2019 takes place May 30 - June 10.

Anniversary celebration June 4th
10 years with KLANG festival must of course be celebrated! - and it will be on June 4, 2019, when KLANG in collaboration with The Black Diamond (The Royal Library), the FDF's ship Skibladner II, the Livgardens Musikkorps, Athelas Sinfonietta and the Esbjerg Ensemble transform the area and the harbor around the Royal Copenhagen. Library for a festival site with lots of music, party and community.

Ship music, The Royal Guard and celebration of contemporary music
FDF's ship Skibladner II docks at Søren Kierkegaard's Square. KLANG-festival has commissioned a unique art- and performance work by composer James Black (DK / GB) who transforms the ship's old wooden deck into a live art installation and music scene.
The Royal Guards Music Corps is one of Denmark's most iconic ensembles. The composers Hugi Gudmundsson, Ole Buck and Rasmus Zwicky write short march-inspired works for the occasion.
4 June 20.00-22.00 The Black Diamond
Anniversary concert with Athelas Sinfonietta and Esbjerg Ensemble
20.00 we open the doors for one of the festival's highlights when the two leading Danish ensembles Athelas Sinfonietta and Esbjerg Ensemble meet for a celebration of contemporary music in The Black Diamond. The concert is under the guidance of conductor Pierre-André Valade
