P2 Radio Concert
P2 og Facebook
2/6 2020, 19:20
Every summer since 2009, a growing audience has been able to meet the live and international contemporary music during the KLANG Festival. Unfortunately, the Corona has forced us to postpone the festival to November.
However, no one should be cheated for contemporary music in June! That is why KLANG Festival together with DR P2 organized a very special radio concert.
How do you create music in a time of corona? How do you compose, play and present a music that requires presence, concentration and community?
We investigate this and much more when a number of Danish ensembles, soloists and composers on Tuesday, June 2, 19.20 make their way past your radio. In addition to lots of live music, the artists also have the opportunity to talk about what it is like to create new music in a time of coronation.
Damkapellet is a young women's ensemble with expertise in contemporary and baroque music. The ensemble has found their very own approach to collaboration, blurring the roles between practitioners and creators. Damkapellet can also be seen live at KLANG-Festival in November.
Andreas Borregaard is one of Denmark's leading accordionists with countless premier performances by Danish and international composers. At KLANG Festival in 2017, he performed Niels Rønsholdt's "Until Nothing Left" - a work that very directly interacts with the surrounding audience. At the radio concert, Borregård will perform the work in a new edition, which asks the question: How is the audience's involvement achieved through the radio?
Duncan House by Rasmus Zwicki is is written to be listed in private apartments. At the P2 concert, Zwicki, together with Ensemble Lydenskab, has now created an alternative version specifically for this completely different occation. "Duncan House" can be experienced in its original form at KLANG-Festival in November.
Pelle Gudmundsen-Holmgreen is one of Denmark's most recognized composers. He wrote the song cycle "Grene Grå" to Jakob Bloch. For the concert, Bloch, in the company of pianist Christian Westergaard, performs this unique, lyrical work.
